Public Awareness Animation

This is the Public Awareness animation me and my partner in Web Design class worked on. The topic we covered was the Day of Silence, a day in which people who participate stay silent to bring awareness to the silencing effect anti-LGBT bullying creates. I did the animation itself, and my partner took care of the audio aspect.

Flash Animation #7

This is my latest animation. The purpose of this animation is to show an object moving along a background. Below, one can see the animation:

Learning Flash Animation

In my Web Design class, we got familiar with Adobe Flash CS6, a software used to create multimedia content for the Web, such as animations and games. I already knew how to use the program from previous experience. However, the exercises used to teach the others who did not use Flash before were fun and engaging for me to create. One of the exercises, Moving Shapes, was used to teach how to separate different objects into different layers and how to make them both move using Motion Tweens. Here is my take on that assignment:

Windows Movie Maker (WMM) Reflection

In the past week, our Web Design class enhanced our Pivot Animations in Windows Movie Maker. Bundled with Windows, Windows Movie Maker enables one to create slide shows, make and introduction and credits scene, and add music, sounds, or both. We used Windows Movie Maker to better our Pivot animations by adding an introduction, credits scene, background music that changes three times during the movie, and sound effects. It was fun to use, and I was surprised by how easy and feature-packed Windows Movie Maker was to use. The version of Windows Movie Maker I used was Windows Movie Maker 2.6.

Pivot Animation

Last week, my Web Design class learned how to use Pivot, a free software to create stick figure animations. I already knew how to use the program, so I didn't learn anything new. Our class was tasked to create a Free Running animation. This is my attempt at doing so:

The most interesting part of the assignment was watching what others made. Their animations were unique in ways I didn't expect. Even though we got the same assignment, the content people made was vastly different from each other.

11/18 Learning Reflection

Last week, we learned how to use Adobe Photoshop CS6 to make a web banner. The banner is used for our Web Design's wiki-spaces pages. Within Photoshop, we learned how to cut out images from their backgrounds using the Magnetic Lasso tool. Also, we learned how to change the order of layers (by dragging the layer on top of the others) and how to hide layers (by clicking the eye next to the layer).
